Exciting Stuff at Tin House
Got an email from the folks over at Tin House and it looks like they’ve got a lot of exciting things happening…
The new issue is out and features new fiction from Donna Tartt, Ken Kalfus (I looooved his debut short story collection Thirst), William Gay, and Tony D’Souza among others.
The email also featured some details on the magazine’s 2006 Summer Writers Workshop. The event is scheduled for July 9 through July 16 in Portland, OR. I’ll dig up more details later, but for right now, just be amazed at this incredible list of teachers: Dorothy Allison, Steve Almond, Aimee Bender, Charles D’Ambrosio, Lee Montgomery, Antonya Nelson, Elissa Schappell, and Jim Shepard are fiction staff; the poetry staff is Nick Flynn, Matthea Harvey, and D. A. Powell; Oren Moverman is teaching screenwriting; and Anthony Swofford is teaching memoir writing. Special guests at the conference include Lorrie Moore and Michael Ondaatje.
This should be an amazing event from one of the preeminent literary journals we have. Be sure to check out the Tin House website for more details.
