Baer and Clevenger to Appear at Powell’s

Habitual readers of Slushpile know my huge admiration for neo-noir writers Will Christopher Baer and Craig Clevenger. I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting these gentlemen in person, but I’ve been told numerous times that a Baer or Clevenger reading is not to be missed. Therefore, I’m incredibly envious of people in the Portland, OR area because both of these great writers are appearing at Powell’s this evening. WCB is supporting the new Phineas Poe: Books I, II, and III and Clevenger will be presenting his new novel, Dermaphoria.

The event is scheduled for 7:30pm at the Powell’s location at 3723 SE Hawthorne. You can get more information about the event by calling the store toll free at 866-201-7601. You could probably order a signed book over the phone if you can’t make it tonight.

These two guys talked quite seriously about doing a book tour where they only read in strip joints, so rest assured, this isn’t going to be your usual university-author-in-a-tweed-jacket type of reading. This is an event not to be missed.
