Dispute Over Reports of Potter Returns

(alternate text)

While no one can deny the Harry Potter craze and the amazing numbers it generates, there is a dispute brewing over just how many of those door-stopper novels are going to be returned. The Independent reported in an article on October 30 that there are 2.5 million copies of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince sitting around bookstores ready to be returned to the publisher. However, Scholastic vice president of communications and media Kyle Good told media outlets that the article is “a complete misrepresentation.” Good continues, “This reporter never spoke to anyone at Scholastic ever. I have no idea how that he got the reference–there’s nothing to admit.”

Sounds like the folks at Hogwarts are gonna have to turn that reporter into a frog or whatever it is they do in those books.
