James Comey signs book deal

It was only a matter of time before ousted FBI director James Comey signed a book deal. The question was just “how much.” According to Bloomberg, the amount was more than $2 million.

Several outlets have reported on the deal, but said that financial details were undisclosed. However, in the Bloomberg reported, anonymous sources say that the auction topped the two million mark.

Ostensibly, the book is about leadership as opposed to a straight tell-all, which isn’t surprising given the nature of Comey’s work. I never expected him to completely lay it all out. But the reports claim there will be never before shared stories in the book. And, the text will have to go through government review. So the interesting question will be just how explicit the final product will be when it hits bookstore shelves.
