Slash’s Ultimate Guitar Showdown

So most of you know that while I’m not writing books (or writing about books) then I’m daydreaming of rock guitar stardom. Never mind the fact that I don’t really play… that little detail doesn’t matter in my fantasies.

But for those of you who do play, and who think you’ve got the licks to impress the man in the top hat himself, check out Slash’s Ultimate Guitar Showdown. Sponsored by Music Nation and Gibson, the competition encourages aspiring axe slingers to upload an audio or video highlighting their best fret work to a website. The public then weighs in and votes on the entries with Slash ultimately judging the finalists and selecting the baddest shredder out there. The winner receives a Gibson Les Paul Studio guitar and a Marshall amp stack.
