Ronaldo Signs Book Deal
Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo has signed a book deal with Pan Macmillan for a work entitled Moments: The Way I Feel. The publisher stated that the book will contain stories, recollections, and 150 photographs.
Ronaldo, who I believe I once dubbed “master of the pointless stepover,” fought tremendous animosity this past Premiere League season to win the PFA’s Player’s Player and Young Player of the Year awards.
The Portugese winger was formerly Public Enemy #1 in England for his role in Wayne Rooney’s ejection from a World Cup match in July, 2006. Yet his outstanding performance this past season even thawed the heart of frustrated British fans and he actually received the PFA Fan’s Player of the Year award, an honor given to the soccer player who receives the most fan votes in the United Kingdom.
He won me over to a large degree with his sheer speed on the ball and fearlessness. And his ability to block out the boos and controversy and just methodically take defenses apart.
Manchester United legend Sir Bobby Charlton is tapped to write the book’s foreward.
