Book Videos

The Book Standard hosted the 2006 Book Video Awards on Monday night in Manhattan. The event was held at Robert DeNiro’s Tribeca Cinemas and featured short-films, one minute in length, designed to promote “a serial-killer mystery, a Da Vinci Code–esque thriller and the real-life story of a charming, lovable heroin addict.”

The shorts are now being “streamed and promoted across a wide network of websites and digital platforms, including Billboard.com, Bookvideoawards.com, bebo.com, Youtube, and, via mSpot, Sprint’s vision network.”

I haven’t had the time to actually watch any of them just yet. But if they come even close to matching the intensity of this magnificently eerie Italian promo film for Will Christopher Baer’s Kiss Me Judas, then they’ll be a rousing success.
